Title: Triple Crown Hound Ears Comp
    Start Time: 08:00 AM
    Location: Boone, North Carolina
    Category: Competition
Other Info: The Houndears bouldering comp is part of the Triple Crown Series www.triplecrownbouldering.org

This will be the 12th year Jim Horton and crew will bring us the Hound Ears Bouldering Competition. You can register now for the Triple Crown Series at www.triplecrownbouldering.org

Hound Ears is located in a gated community just outside of Boone, North Carolina. It is closed to climbing except for this event. Please respect the owners, employees and members of Hound Ears. Their gracious understanding is the only reason this event is possible. DO NOT do anything to change their opinion of climbers.

Known for it's crimpers, pockets, occasional sloper and funky top outs this area offers a little something for everyone. Classic lines such as Alfred Hitchcock, Flash Or Trash, Bracheator, Fuc Yo, The Blade, The Pocket Problem and Thunderprow have always been competition favorites. Just don't miss out on some of the new classics a little more off the beaten path. Lines like The Fly, John Cougar Concentration Camp, Mother's Milk, Air Jesus, The Milky Way, and the new megaclassic Heretic should not be missed.

While several areas require short hikes most of the boulders are literally stacked on top of each other in one big main area.

A portion of the proceeds from the Triple Crown Series goes to help with local climbing access issues like the purchase of Jamestown, Alabama and Rumbling Bald, NC.
