Trussville Boulders
General information
Land Manager: City of Trussville
Native Lands: Shawandasse Tula (Shawanwaki/Shawnee), S’atsoyaha (Yuchi), Mvskoke (Muscogee / Creek) (from Native-land.ca)
Area Rep: Position Open
In 2017, the Access Fund and SCC worked with the City of Trussville to open a small bouldering park at the Trussville Sports Complex. The Trussville Sports Complex is already a hub for outdoor recreation; offering hiking, mountain biking, and disc golf. The addition of the boulder field will enhance the recreational opportunities for the local community. This area has not seen climbing in quite some time so bring some brushes and clean off some new problems!
This project was largely funded by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham and stewardship work on the boulders was conducted by the Access Fund Conservation Team.
Directions
What to Expect
The Trussville Boulders consist of a small grouping of about 5-6 large boulders with potential for 20+ problems. Many of the boulders have been cleaned and are ready to climb. The boulders are scattered off the disc golf trail. Begin at the disc golf trail head and follow the trail until you see the boulders.
